About Alan

Raised in New York City, Mr. Kaplan attended college in upstate New York and graduated from SUNY Albany in 1966, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay area with offices in San Leandro and Walnut Creek, and he has 2 grown daughters who appreciate his background and his focused practice.

Mr. Kaplan entered the financial sector in 1990 as a financial planner with an emphasis on asset preservation. He has delivered and facilitated over 200 seminars for the “senior” population on various related topics including seminars for the California Partnership for Long Term Care; Alan is an advocate for nursing home reform. He also practiced Medicaid Estate Planning for people who are faced with large medical bills or the financial burdens of Long Term Care that comes from Nursing Home costs.

Since 2004, Alan has hosted popular radio talk shows, expanding his audience reach from the Bay Area to 10 markets across the country. His show, “New School of Wealth, ” has offered pointers and financial advice on a wide range of topics that focus on building a secure future and protecting assets. The shows have included guest speakers who discuss Estate Planning, Elder Law, and other assorted topics.

Alan Kaplan is speaking directly to an audience made up of people who know they need help and advice, but don’t know where to go for that advice. By highlighting common concerns in his shows, Mr. Kaplan serves as a reminder and a resource for people who have created financial success and want to maximize and protect their assets.
